Jenny G. Ishii Founder of Stonewell & Inventor of CathPal

The Stonewell Story

Jenny Ishii, the Founder of Stonewell Industries was a Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Patient. Two days after starting PD, she realized that she could not continue using tape to secure her catheter. Constantly ripping the tape off of her skin in the same spot 5 times a day to access her catheter for PD exchanges caused her skin to breakdown. Furthermore, it was extremely painful. As a result, she came up with different ways of securing her catheter. Finally, she landed on the idea of CathPal®, a catheter wrap that secured her catheter with a material that sticks to itself and allows her to access the catheter for PD without having to remove the adhesive from her skin. Not only did it save her skin from further breakdown, it also kept her catheter cleaner as it did not leave a sticky glue residue on the catheter that tape used to leave, which would attract dirt and dust. The long-lasting adhesive stays secure and only needs to be changed daily. The CathPal® catheter wrap is soft, flexible, and comfortable to wear. CathPal® is also available for in a variety of colors to wear under any colored shirt.
